Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata Need to Teach Clay Matthews Their Names

The average non-Viking fan may not know the names Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon, but if the two running backs keep performing the way they did Sunday against the Falcons, that will all change soon.

Maybe, if they play really really well, Clay Matthews will even bother to learn who they are.

When asked about the Vikings’ running game, the Packers linebacker only knew one thing for sure: Adrian Peterson is not around anymore.

He knew the Vikings had some other guys who did some good things against the Falcons but…I guess Clay’s just not good with names (via jsonline.com):

"“We haven’t heard much as far as who their running backs are for years now, outside of Adrian Peterson,” Matthews said. “But now they’ve got… they’ve got that one guy who can run really hard, ran for over 100 yards. And the little guy, he was really quick, too. That’s no disrespect. They put up some running yards last week.”"

Say it after me, Clay: Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon.

After Thursday, you will be more familiar with both of them. The one who ran you over and the one who faked you out of your jock.

If McKinnon and Asiata need any help picking out Matthews, he’s the one with the giant head who looks like he hasn’t washed his hair in four years.
