Vikings QB Bridgewater Wants To Cash In On Easy Throws

Sometimes, when you’re watching a Minnesota Vikings game feels it feels like the team has two different quarterbacks that each play one half of football.  That is because rookie passer Teddy Bridgewater has struggled at the beginning of his games and seems to find his rhythm after halftime.

Recently, the folks over at the Minneapolis Star Tribune talked to Teddy Bridgewater about the one thing that the quarterback would work hardest to change this year.  Here is what he answered:

"“Just take advantage of those easy completions when they present themselves,” Bridgewater said. “There are times in the game when there could be a five-yard out route or just something that gives you consistency, something that gives you rhythm. Taking every completion and not try to force throws and be smart with the football.”"

This is the area where Bridgewater excelled at Louisville.  He was a very smart quarterback that made good decisions, avoiding turnovers and methodically moving his team down the field.  He has been streaky at best this year, getting off to rough starts against opposing defenses that he should be able to take advantage of.

Hopefully, Teddy Bridgewater starts the trend of taking better advantage of opportunities this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, especially early on games when he seems to struggle more than he should.

The rookie passer has been somewhat disappointing since his exciting preseason games.  But given some time, Bridgewater should be able to become a solid starting quarterback in the NFL.
