Brandon Marshall Impressed By Vikings WR Charles Johnson

First year Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson is turning some heads.  He quickly went from obscurity to a starting wide receiver after being brought in at the middle of the season.  But it isn’t only Vikings fans who have noticed Charles Johnson, other players in the NFL are starting to realize his potential as well.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is one of those.  During the games between Minnesota and Chicago, Marshall got to watch Charles Johnson and he came away a bit impressed according to an article by Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.  Here’s what Charles Johnson had to say about his interaction with Brandon Marshall:

"“He came up to me after the game and he said, ‘Hey man, much respect, you’re a baller, you’re really good. Teddy was standing there and he said to him, ‘Why didn’t you tell me about him? Invite him to our (offseason) camp.’ Teddy was like, ‘We just signed him.’ It was pretty cool.”"

The “camp” that Marshall is talking about is the Fit Speed Athletic Performance Center near Miami, Florida.  Working with Teddy Bridgewater and Brandon Marshall during the offseason could only help Charles Johnson in his development with the Minnesota Vikings.  Hopefully, he can attend the camp and take full advantage of every opportunity he can get.

Meanwhile, Charles Johnson can feel good just knowing that he is being recognized for his ability as an NFL wide receiver.

"“It’s great. It was something to see that a guy like him who’s established thought that I was good and acknowledged my game. He said that I had some good skills, and I really appreciated the compliment.”"

The Minnesota Vikings may have found a gem when they picked up Charles Johnson this year.  If he can continue to grow and develop, he could be the kind of player the team has looked for in the past, but have missed on draft picks or in free agency.  Charles Johnson is currently under contract for Minnesota through the 2016 season, but could find himself earning a much bigger payday if he can continue producing at the level he has this year.
