Fran Tarkenton Thinks Tom Brady Knew About Deflated Balls
By Dan Zinski
The New England Patriots appear to be passing the buck on Deflategate right into the lap of a poor lowly defenseless locker room attendant. Tom Brady didn’t know about deflated balls. Bill Belichick didn’t know about deflated balls. Nobody important on the Patriots knew anything about deflated balls.

Are you buying that? Because Fran Tarkenton isn’t. The ever-opinionated Mr. Tarkenton gave his take on Deflategate, and said point blank he doesn’t believe Tom Brady’s denial (via Star-Tribune):
"Nobody put a needle in that ball to reduce the air out of it without Tom Brady telling them what he wants. Without him instructing it. Impossible to do. Not going to happen."
Fran says that in his day he always rubbed the balls up himself to make sure they were exactly how he wanted them, but never went so far as to take air out of the balls. Tarkenton does confirm that a softer ball is easier to throw and catch and is less likely to be fumbled.
This is straight from the mouth of an expert, one who isn’t afraid to speak the truth about the goings-on in the NFL. Fran Tarkenton knows what the deal is. PEDs are rampant in the NFL and Tom Brady absolutely was responsible for deflating footballs.
Does Fran have proof? Of course not. But he knows anyway, because…he just knows these things.
