The wait for Minnesota Vikings fans to see their team in action got a little shorter today when it was announced that the team would be part of the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game. Scheduled for Sunday, August 9th, the Minnesota Vikings will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers live from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

This is great news for Vikings fans that can’t get their football back soon enough. It’s great that the Minnesota Vikings have been chosen to play 5 preseason games this year. It means that there is more Vikings action and we’ll get to see the team back on a field in competition sooner than expected.
Two members of the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class will be represented by the teams playing, with the Minnesota Vikings having Mick Tingelhoff being inducted and Steelers running back Jerome Bettis also being enshrined.
While preseason isn’t a big deal to many casual fans, I know that I’m excited to see this young team in action. The more chances that they can get to mesh against high levels of competition like Pittsburgh can provide great learning experiences. Sadly, it can also mean more injuries before the season can even begin.
The game can be seen Sunday, August 9th at 8 pm EST on NBC. Check your local listings for availability.
