Adrian Peterson Plays In Knoxville Charity Basketball Game

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is one of those players that will always be in the public eye.  Sometimes, being in the public eye is a bad thing, as the media always seems to run with the negative stories instead of the positive ones.  However, many of these players that are under a microscope are frequently doing good things for the community and charity that are overlooked.

For example, recently, Adrian Peterson took a trip down to Knoxville, Tennessee to participate in a basketball game for charity.  The event is an annual event held by a childhood friend of Peterson’s named Bobby Maze.  According to an article on KnoxNews.com, Maze has been trying to several seasons to get the star running back of the Minnesota Vikings to participate in the event, but Adrian has been unable to attend.

This is the third annual celebrity basketball game at Hardin Valley Academy and took place last night (Saturday, June 20th).  Many local celebrities were on hand for the event including Lady Vols former basketball player Shannon Bobbitt and many, many others.

At this time, it isn’t known if Adrian Peterson will return for the 4th annual celebrity basketball game, but it’s good to see him spending his down time from the NFL to participate in charitable events as well as reconnect with a childhood friend.
