Adrian Peterson expected to play despite reported illness
By Dan Zinski
Last week the Vikings got in trouble with the NFL for failing to disclose Everson Griffen’s illness until reporting inactives. They decided not to make the same mistake with Adrian Peterson.
Rather than let the Detroit Lions and the rest of the world think Peterson’s only issue was a bad finger, the Vikings yesterday changed Peterson’s injury status to “questionable” with an illness.
So now everyone knows that Peterson was ill as of yesterday. Adjust your fantasy football plans accordingly. Or maybe not?
Peterson ran for 134 yards on 29 carries the last time the Vikings played Detroit. That was his biggest game of the year in terms of yardage.
The Vikings are hoping that Peterson can top his biggest game of the year today against the team he already shredded once. Detroit’s defense hasn’t improved since that week, so maybe he can.
In other injury news, Sharrif Floyd has been ruled out for Sunday with a knee/ankle injury. Everson Griffen is expected to play a week after missing a game with an illness of his own.
