Odell Beckham likely to be suspended for Vikings vs. Giants (Report)

Odell Beckham is likely facing a one-game suspension after going crazy Sunday against the Panthers, and that could be good news for the Vikings.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Odell Beckham Jr. likely will be suspended one game by the league for going out of his mind and trying to behead Panthers cornerback Josh Norman Sunday.

And that is potentially great news for the Vikings.

Minnesota just needs to beat the Giants Sunday and they are in the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Beating the Giants would be a significantly easier task if Beckham is unable to play.

Despite being a meathead, Beckham is widely perceived as the most talented wide receiver in the league today.

More from The Viking Age

Odell has 91 receptions on the season for 1,396 yards and 13 TDs. Beckham’s one-handed circus grabs have become popular fodder for makers of Vines.

This weekend though, Beckham was highlighted less for his play than for his crazed behavior.

The most disturbing play saw Beckham taking the dirtiest shot imaginable against Josh Norman, the cornerback with whom he had battled for most of the game.

Later in the game Beckham scored a tying touchdown and celebrated by stepping over Norman in a manner reminiscent of Allen Iverson.

The Giants are currently fighting for their playoff lives so it would obviously be a huge blow for them to lose Beckham.

The Vikings on the other hand would not exactly cry if Beckham were to be suspended for Sunday’s game.

It’s looking very much like Beckham will indeed be shut down for Sunday night. Thanks for being you, Odell.
