Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions: Week 12 Thanksgiving injury report

Who will be sitting out during the week 12 Thanksgiving game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions and whose status will be a game time decision?
Checking out the injury report is always an important step for fans of Minnesota Vikings professional football. Wounds, illnesses, and other ailments can keep players from being able to contribute in ways they otherwise would.
For week 12, there are many interesting things to note and several big names are showing up on the injury report for the Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions which need to be addressed.
Here are the injury reports from the official Vikings and Lions team websites, including the players who will be out and those whose status are in question for week 12:

- Marcus Sherels, CB -rib/ankle
- Sharrif Floyd, DT – knee
DOUBTFUL
- Terence Newman, CB – neck
QUESTIONABLE
- Stefon Diggs, WR – knee
- Eric Kendricks, LB – hip
- Captain Munnerlyn, CB – ankle
- Harrison Smith, S – ankle
Having Marcus Sherels ruled out is a blow, since he’s always a valuable player on special teams, particularly on punt returns. However, the real story here on defense would be if Terence Newman isn’t able to play and Trae Waynes is forced into the starting lineup. The cornerback situation would hurt even more if Munnerlyn sits out as well.
Also, it’s never good to see Stefon Diggs on an injury report, but it’s not as bad since he’s only questionable and not doubtful or out.

It looks as though everyone will likely be suiting up for the Lions. While many would view that as bad from the Vikings point of view, it is always best to test yourself against the best a team has to offer, and a healthy Detroit team will present a big challenge.
