Percy Harvin is on the block according to a report from Mike Max of WCCO. Things seem to have reached a point of no return between Harvin and the Vikings after multiple incidents including a reported “embarrassing tirade” by Harvin, directed at head coach Leslie Frazier. This tirade is reportedly the reason Harvin landed on IR, removing him from the picture during the Vikes’ playoff run. Teammates were reportedly not happy with Harvin after the blow-up and now the Vikes are trying to unload him. Harvin has one year left on his contract and is looking for a long-term deal.

So what can the Vikes reasonably expect to get in return for Harvin? A first round pick would be ideal, but many are skeptical that any team would be willing to give this up. Yes Harvin is talented but he also has baggage. Not only is his attitude in question, so is his physical soundness. Harvin’s style of play puts him in danger of injury and teams might be wary of giving up a high pick.

NFL personnel people are saying the Vikes would be lucky to get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Harvin. The New England Patriots seem to be at the top of the list of prospective trade partners. More speculation about possible trade scenarios will certainly ensue now that Harvin appears to be squarely on the block.
