Vikings DE Spencer Nealy Suspended 4 Games for PEDs
By Dan Zinski
Spencer Nealy inherited Jared Allen’s #69 when Jared left, but it was unlikely he was ever going to live up to everything that came with taking over such a prestigious number. Now Nealy won’t even be with the Vikings the first four games of 2014 after being suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy.

Spencer Nealy, you are no Jared Allen. When Jared got suspended it was for DUIs, not PEDs.
The 24-year-old Nealy is entering his second year with the Vikings after being signed as a UDFA out of Texas A&M. Nealy bounced back and forth between the practice squad and the street last season and figured to once again find himself on that bubble in 2014.
But now Nealy will probably find himself headed out of Minnesota entirely. And if/when the Vikings cut him, that #69 will once again be up for grabs.
Is it possible that the football gods just don’t want anyone else wearing Jared’s old number in Minnesota? That #69 Vikings jersey may be cursed.
Beware, next person to sport the #69 with the Vikings. You could end up going the way of Spencer Nealy.
