Bishop was a first-rate linebacker with the Packers before a torn hamstring messed up his career and sent him packing right out of Green Bay. The Vikings took a chance on him last year only to watch him struggle physically in training camp. When Bishop was finally able to make it on the field for Minnesota in week 6, he lasted less than a half before tearing his ACL.
Even after back-to-back seasons wiped out by injuries, the Cardinals are willing to take a shot with Bishop. He’s a smart, talented player who likely can still be effective, but it all depends on whether his body is willing to cooperate.
The Cardinals will not have very much at risk here financially and, like the Vikings last year, will just be hoping to get whatever they can get from Bishop.
Here’s hoping Bishop is able to stay healthy and stick with Arizona. After two straight ruined seasons, he has an uphill battle ahead of him. But he won’t quit on it, you know that.
