Vikings Preseason: Five Familiar Players Who Could Get Cut

First cuts are coming up fast and not long after that, the big pare down to 53. Some familiar names could end up on the chopping block when Mike Zimmer and his staff get together with Rick Spielman to trim the roster.

I hope you aren’t too attached to any of these five men because there’s a good chance several of them will soon be gone. But we’ll always have our memories.

1. Josh Robinson
Mike Zimmer has indicated that he might want to keep six corners, which would make things a little safer for Josh Robinson, but even if the Vikings go corner-heavy you have to think Robinson could be in some trouble.
Just look at the breakdown. Xavier Rhodes and Captain Munnerlyn are locks, Shaun Prater and Derek Cox have done good things in camp, Jabari Price is a promising rookie and Marcus Sherels has value as a punt returner and backup corner. That’s already six.
While those men have been out there performing, Robinson has been dealing with a bad hamstring. Mike Zimmer said all you need to know about that situation and how it’s affecting Robinson’s future prospects with the Vikings:
Robinson better hope that hamstring loosens up so he can get out on the field and show his stuff, because right now I have him as a cut.
