Monday’s round of cuts, which claimed safety Mistral Raymond and cornerback Derek Cox among others, left the Vikings still needing to make one more move to get down to the 70 man limit ahead of Tuesday’s 3 PM CT deadline.

The Vikings took a few hours to mull their options and decided to cut loose TE Mike Higgins, placing him on waivers.
A former Saint, Higgins was signed after the start of camp to replace Chase Ford when Ford was put on the PUP list with an injured leg. With Ford returning from PUP, Higgins became expendable.
The Vikings have shuffled their tight ends quite a bit this camp and preseason, putting Ford on PUP, signing Higgings, dumping UDFA AC Leonard and signing and then cutting Kory Sperry.
With the Higgins move the Vikings now seem to have solidified their TE depth chart. Kyle Rudolph and Rhett Ellison are the top 2, Teddy Bridgewater favorite Allen Reisner is the able-bodied backup and Chase Ford is working his way back into the mix.
More cuts will come Saturday as the Vikings get down to their final 53.
