It’s Not Yet Teddy Bridgewater Time for Minnesota
By Dan Zinski
Matt Cassel’s huge struggles against the New England Patriots had fans chanting Teddy Bridgewater’s name both at TCF Bank Stadium and on their couches at home.

Even if Mike Zimmer heard the chants, he isn’t going to respond to them. After the Vikings’ 30-7 loss to the Patriots, Zimmer said that Matt Cassel will be the starter for Minnesota next week against the Saints.
Zimmer refused to put the onus for the huge defeat at Cassel’s feet saying, “We win as a team, we lose as a team.”
Cassel threw four interceptions, the second coming when he inexplicably forced a ball to Greg Jennings with Darrelle Revis all over him.
Matt Cassel decided to challenge Darrelle Revis? Okay then, Matt.
Viking fans seem to want Cassel out after Sunday’s mess, but Mike Zimmer doesn’t coach the team by fan vote. There won’t be a Twitter poll to decide who should start at QB next week.
The Vikings have preached all along that they won’t have a quick hook with Cassel. So really, nobody has any reason to be surprised that Teddy Bridgewater time has not yet come.
And why would you want it to come now, with the offensive line in the state it’s in? Oh, because Bridgewater is the one magic rookie quarterback in history who can win games with a bad O-line, limited receiving options and questionable running backs.
Of course.
