The Vikings and Packers clash for the first time this season, each coming off big Week 4 victories.
Minnesota dominated the Atlanta Falcons last week behind rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater, with help from a strong running game. The Vikings’ defense had too many break downs but Anthony Barr and Harrison Smith came up with big plays to stop Matt Ryan and the Falcons before they could rally.
The Packers last week beat up the Chicago Bears to even their record at 2-2. Aaron Rodgers got back on-track after one of his worst career games, lighting up the Bears for 302 yards and 4 TDs.
The Vikings don’t yet know if they will have Teddy Bridgewater for Thursday night as he recovers from an ankle injury. If Bridgewater can’t go, Christian Ponder will once again walk into Lambeau Field and try to beat the Packers.
In the two teams’ last meeting, Ponder fought backup QB Matt Flynn to a stalemate.
The Vikings’ defense has shown improvement this year but will have to be less mistake-prone if they hope to defeat Rodgers and Green Bay.
