The bad news no one wanted to face, but everyone with a clear, objective, rational view of the situation knew was coming, has indeed arrived.

The Vikings have chosen to err on the side of caution by sitting down Teddy Bridgewater for Thursday night’s game in Green Bay, which means Christian Ponder will be starting at quarterback.
Recently-signed Chandler Harnish will be the #2 QB with Bridgewater officially inactive.
No surprise but the short week reportedly played a part in the Vikings’ decision to sit Bridgewater.
Vikings believe Teddy Bridgewater would've been ready if this game was Sunday. Alas, it is not.

The short week factor was always a big part of why I thought it made sense to sit Bridgewater for this game. Weird, terrible things happen on Thursday Night Football. No reason to risk the future of the franchise in this one.
The excitement level for Viking fans takes a dip with Christian Ponder in the game instead of Bridgewater. I don’t know why that should be. Look at these career stats against the Packers.
1-4-1 all-time record
54% completions
7/5 TDs to INTs
76.6 QB rating
Come on! Ponder can do it. Let me hear it Viking fans. Pon-der. Pon-der. Pon-der.
