It seems like I say this almost every week but, that was an ugly first half of football for the Vikings.

But despite the ineptitude and self-destruction, somehow the Vikings are only down a field goal at the half.
The key play for Minnesota was a Captain Munnerlyn interception of Robert Griffin III that set the Vikes up with a scoring chance.
Teddy Bridgewater made it pay off by hitting TE Chase Ford for a 20-yard TD.
Before that play, the Vikings offense looked anything but in sync.
Teddy Bridgewater had a couple of chances to hit big plays deep but overthrew open receivers. Cordarrelle Patterson was on the other end of several missed connections that could have resulted in big yards.
Is Patterson doing a bad job running routes or is Bridgewater simply off in his deep passes? Or both? That will be a subject of debate among fans.
Overall, Bridgewater did not have a great half. He was pressured heavily again, he missed some deep ones and he made a couple questionable decisions with throws.
But in typical Bridgewater fashion, despite all the stuff going wrong, he kept his head up and never lost confidence. Bridgewater keeps making his reads and delivering the ball when he sees one-on-one opportunities.
The fact that those balls aren’t connecting a very high percentage of the time is concerning, but it would be more concerning if Bridgewater were obviously losing confidence.
Defensively, the Vikings had some early struggles again, giving up a field goal and a TD. There have been some missed assignments and missed tackles, but what else is new?
But there have been some good defensive plays as well. Captain Munnerlyn had an interception of RG3. Anthony Barr had a big sack of Griffin to stop an early TD drive.
Everson Griffen has been running around balling all day. Unfortunately, there have been some failures by some usual suspects.
Chad Greenway continues to miss tackles, Robert Blanton continues to take bad angles.
No surprises in who has been guilty of bad plays so far. No surprises in the guys who have stepped up and made things happen.
It’s pretty clear by now who can ball on this team and who can’t.
