Looking At The Rest Of The Vikings Schedule After The Bye

facebooktwitterreddit

It is currently the bye week for the Minnesota Vikings.  After a disappointing 4-5 start, the team does find itself on a two game win streak and hoping to win enough games to finish with a respectable record and possibly push for a playoff spot.

The rest of the Vikings schedule looks a bit difficult from this point on.  Here is the rest of the schedule:

Week 11:  at Chicago Bears  (3-5)

  • The Vikings meet up with Jay Cutler’s Bears for the first time this year right after their bye week.  The Bears are one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL, and Minnesota is hoping that they can meet up with the struggling version of Chicago’s team.

Week 12:  vs Green Bay Packers  (5-3)

  • The first time the Vikings met the Packers, Minnesota was led by Christian Ponder in a primetime blowout that can only be described as embarrassing.  This time, Vikings fans are praying things will be different as the game will be held in Minnesota.

Week 13:  vs Carolina Panthers  (3-5-1)

  • Carolina’s team isn’t the same powerhouse as they were last year.  Their defense is struggling and Cam Newton doesn’t quite look like the player that his potential shows that he can be.

Week 14:  vs New York Jets  (2-8)

  • The Jets have a situation at quarterback that Vikings fans can understand.  They have seen a revolving door of passes that haven’t been able to capitalize on their solid defense to get wins.  Don’t let their record fool you, they’re better than their record shows.

Week 15:  at Detroit Lions  (7-2)

  • Detroit is a force in the NFL this year.  They have one of the best defenses in the NFL coupled with an explosive offense.  The Lions currently sit on top of the NFC North, but have a history of self-destructing at the end of the season.

Week 16:  at Miami Dolphins  (5-4)

  • After narrow defeats at the hands of the Lions and the Packers, the Miami Dolphins have shown that they’re a good team that struggles to put away good teams at the end of games.

Week 17:  vs Chicago Bears  (3-5)

  • Since the Vikings haven’t played the Bears yet this year, it’s hard to know how the two teams will match up.  However every Vikings fan should be watching this game to see former Vikings defensive end Jared Allen in what will hopefully be a game with playoff implications.

What do you guys think?  How many of these games are possible wins?  Do you think the Vikings can keep their winning streak going and make a possible run at the playoffs?  Discuss it in the comments below.
