Ian Rapoport reports that Adrian Peterson could be looking at a 6-game suspension under the personal conduct policy, but says it’s likely Peterson’s actual suspension would be less than that once the league and Peterson’s people get done negotiating.

The league and Peterson reportedly had an explicit agreement stating Peterson would be reinstated after the resolution of his legal case. That case was resolved on Tuesday but Peterson still has not been reinstated.
The union issued a statement on Friday calling out the NFL for dragging its feet on Peterson and threatening to “pursue any and all remedies” if Peterson’s rights are breached.
The Vikings continue to remain silent through all this back-and-forth between the union and the league. Their only statement on the matter has been a non-statement saying they will only comment at the appropriate time.
Not much can be stated with any certainty right now as regards Adrian Peterson’s future. What is clear is that Peterson and the league had some kind of agreement when Peterson was placed on the exempt list, and now the league is hesitating to hold up their end.
Peterson likely only agreed to a plea deal in his child abuse case because he thought the league would follow through on their promise to quickly reinstate him. Any result other than a quick reinstatement with no further games lost would mean Peterson gave up his chance at a trial for nothing.
