Bears, Mike Zimmer Both Offer Statements About Clock Malfunction
By Dan Zinski
The clocks didn’t want to work today at Soldier Field. Throughout the game there were issues with the play clock, and in the last few minutes – with the Vikings trying to mount a comeback – all the clocks crapped out entirely.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things the lack of working clocks late in the game really didn’t mean that much. It’s not like the Vikings had a very good chance to come back, working clocks or no.
At the same time, you would sort of think that an NFL stadium with all its sophisticated electronics and other expensive bells and whistles would at the very least have clocks that always worked no matter what?
The clock issue was bothersome enough for the Bears to release a post-game statement addressing the matter. Here is that statement in full:
So basically the Bears are saying “Sorry nothing we could do about it. S–t happens.”
Before the Bears’ statement, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer made his own remarks about the clock situation. His were quite blunt.
I’d say that about sums it up.
But it wasn’t just the clocks that were bulls–t today. The Vikings’ pass rush and offense were also quite stinky.
Zimmer can’t do anything about the clocks at Soldier Field, but hopefully he can do something about some of these other problems.
