The Minnesota Vikings will be without two major contributors when they take the field against the Packers approximately 90 minutes from this posting.

Both running back Matt Asiata and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd missed practice late in the week, and both will be inactive for Green Bay.
Asiata is out with a concussion suffered during last week’s game against the Bears. Floyd is out after banging knees with a teammate during practice.
The Vikings knew they would likely be without Asiata for this game and covered themselves by claiming former Texans and Browns RB Ben Tate off waivers. Jerick McKinnon figures to get the lion’s share of the carries with Tate filling in.
In place of Floyd, the Vikings will go with rookie Shamar Stephen at 3-tech defensive tackle. Stephen has seen a limited number of snaps so far this year but he has shown flashes of talent.
The loss of Floyd will hurt the Vikings’ ability to get penetration against Aaron Rodgers, and will also hamper their ability to slow down Eddie Lacy and the Green Bay running game.
After mucking through his rookie season, Floyd has come on strong in year two and become a true force at defensive tackle. The former Florida star has made several big-time athletic plays in recent weeks and will be sorely missed by the Vikings today.
Asiata seems easier to replace, though he has been a true force in goal line situations.
