The Minnesota Vikings fell short on Sunday, losing to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 24-21. While it was a good win for the Packers, it was also a good day for Vikings wide receivers that used to be members of the squad from Green Bay.

Greg Jennings hauled in 4 of the 5 passes thrown his way against his former team. He ended the day with 38 receiving yards and one touchdown on the day. Jennings was a member of the Packers from 2006-20012 after he was drafted by Green Bay in the second round of the NFL Draft. After the 2012 season, the Minnesota Vikings grabbed the veteran pass catcher in free agency, locking him up to a $5 year, 47.5 million contract.
The other former Green Bay wide receiver to haul in a score was Charles Johnson. Johnson was a 7th round draft pick of the Packers and was waived after suffering an MCL injury. The injury continued to nag him after he was picked up by Cleveland, who tried to stash him on their practice squad. That didn’t last long though, as the Vikings picked Charles Johnson off their squad this September.

Acquiring Charles Johnson has paid off for the Vikings this year, as he continues to grow and develop with the team. For the second week in a row, Johnson was the Vikings leading receiver, catching 3 passes from rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for 52 yards and a touchdown. He also added a 2 point conversion catch.
Next week, the Vikings play the Carolina Panthers. Although they don’t have any pass catchers that used to play for Carolina, defensive back Captain Munnerlyn is looking forward to that game. Hopefully, he can find success against his former team like Greg Jennings and Charles Johnson did.
