Matt Asiata Clears Concussion Protocol, Returns To Practice

On Wednesday, running back Matt Asiata returned to practice for the Minnesota Vikings.  He missed the game against the Green Bay Packers last week after dealing with a concussion he sustained on November 16th against the Chicago Bears that he just couldn’t shake.

The news was shared in this Tweet from St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.  Here is the tweet he sent out:

Vikings fans can expect to see Matt Asiata on the field Sunday when the Vikings take on the Carolina Panthers.  Carolina struggles when it comes to keeping running backs out of the end zone, so it could be a big day for the bruising running back. Asiata should find his role as the Minnesota short yardage and goal line running back returned to him for this game.

Here’s what Matt Asiata said about missing last week’s game and his status for Sunday in a recent article from the Pioneer Press:

"“It’s always tough to sit out and watch your team,” Asiata said. “But I’m back, and I’m cleared up, and I’m ready to go.”"

Asiata’s return should help bolster Minnesota’s run game on Sunday, when the Vikings will hope to get their fifth win of the year.
