Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is once again in the running for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. This time, it is for his week 13 efforts against the Carolina Panthers during a 31-13 victory.

Bridgewater was very efficient in the game, completing 71.43% of his passes, scoring two touchdowns, and earning a quarterback rating of 120.7. Sadly, he didn’t put up a very impressive yardage total since he only attempted 21 passes in the game. He finished the game completing 15 of his 21 pass attempts for a total of 138 yards, adding two rushes for 12 yards.
Bridgewater will face some insanely difficult competition this week for the award. Here is his competition:
Tre Mason, RB – Rams
- 14 carries for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns, 3 catches for 47 yards and a touchdown
Donte Moncrief, WR – Colts
- 134 receiving yards on 3 catches and 2 touchdowns
Aaron Colvin, CB – Jaguars
- 4 tackles and a 41 yard fumble recovery touchdown
Davante Adams, WR – Packers
- 6 catches for 121 yards
As you can see, there were four other very impressive performances in during week 13. Tre Mason has the potential to absolutely run away with this award after a huge game against the Oakland Raiders. He should be considered the favorite going into the voting based on his performance. But that shouldn’t take away from the excellent performance that Bridgewater had on Sunday.
