The knee Sharrif Floyd banged up during a practice mishap two weeks ago is still giving him problems.

Floyd was forced out of the Packer game altogether because of the knee, but was well enough to return for the Panthers game.
Though he did get on the field against Carolina, Floyd was limited to third down duty. He was finally pulled entirely in the second half.
Despite missing parts of two games with the knee problem, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer offered assurances that Floyd is improving.
In spite of these assurances, Floyd sat out of practice on Wednesday and has to be considered a question mark for this weekend’s game against the Jets.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the loss of Floyd the last two weeks contributed to the Vikings’ inability to slow down the Green Bay and Carolina run games.
Floyd is being heralded as an emerging pass rusher but his greatest value may be in the way he blows up running plays and screen passes.
The Jets figure to feature a game plan heavy with runs and screens, so it would be nice to have Floyd out there disrupting things.
Unless Floyd’s knee shows marked improvement in the next couple days, it seems the Vikings will have to survive another week with no Floyd or limited Floyd.
