The first half of today’s Vikings-Jets game offered more compelling evidence of the unpredictability of pro football.

Going into the game, you weren’t necessarily expecting a highly entertaining two quarters. But that is exactly what the Vikings and Jets delivered.
Things got off to a roaring start for Minnesota when Geno Smith’s first pass of the game was picked off for six points by Gerald Hodges.
The Jets would quickly answer with a sack safety on Teddy Bridgewater followed by a 35-yard TD pass from Geno Smith to – who else – Percy Harvin.
You had to know Harvin would come out motivated to tear up his old team and he definitely played a strong first half, working over Josh Robinson for a pair of big catches including the TD.
But the Vikings’ offense would have its own highlights against the Jets’ defense.
Teddy Bridgewater connected with Charles Johnson on a 56 yard TD to put the Vikings back on top.
Later, Bridgewater would hit a wide-open Johnson for another huge play that ended up as a fumble recovery TD for Jerome Felton.
Teddy Bridgewater had a very strong first half, completing 8-of-10 passes with a TD and a pick. Should have been two TDs and the pick was on a hail mary prayer to end the half.
Defensively, the Vikings had some problems in the secondary. Captain Munnerlyn was guilty on one long pass reception to Harvin and was called for a pair of penalties.
Josh Robinson and Robert Blanton also had their struggles. The Vikings did not get a consistent rush against Geno Smith.
However, the Jets’ own ineptitude helped out the Vikings. A key play was Andrew Sendejo’s forced fumble against Chris Ivory in the red zone.
The Vikings’ defense hasn’t put together a great game so far but they did make some big plays in the first half.
