Friday’s injury report for the Minnesota Vikings came out and it appears as though the team will be without four more of their starters for Sunday game against Detroit. Linebacker Anthony Barr, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, guard Charlie Johnson and safety Robert Blanton are all officially out for the game.
The Vikings have been severely hampered by injuries this year. They’ve lost a starters several starters for the season due to injury this year, including quarterback Matt Cassel, offensive tackle Phil Loadholt, guard Brandon Fusco and running back Jerick McKinnon among others. The Vikings will be fighting on Sunday to get to .500 on the season and even out their wins and losses.

Sharrif Floyd will be out due to a knee injury that has been bothering him the last couple weeks. Seventh round draft pick Shamar Stephen will get the start in his place.
Anthony Barr missed last week’s game due to a knee injury and will also miss this week’s game. Barr has had a very good rookie season to this point, even earning him some mentions as a possible Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate. Gerald Hodges should get the start in his place.
Offensive guard Charlie Johnson was injured in last week’s game against the New York Jets. Since he will be unable to go this week, guard Vladimir Ducasse should get the nod as a starter.
Finally, Robert Blanton was also injured in Sunday’s game against the Jets. His spot on defense will be covered by Andrew Sendejo.
You can catch the game between the Lions and the Vikings on Sunday at 3:25 pm central time on Fox. Check your local listings for availability.
