Tonight, the players who were voted into the 2015 Pro Bowl were named.  Among the choices were  zero members of the Minnesota Vikings.

Sadly, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen and safety Harrison Smith did not receive enough votes to make the team, but Everson Griffen was named an alternate.

Since the NFL’s Pro Bowl is essentially a popularity contest, it isn’t really a surprise that no members of the Minnesota Vikings were voted into the game.  Instead, wait for the more meaningful announcement of the All-Pro Team, which is less of a popularity contest and based more on the players’ on field accomplishments and accolades.

The list of NFL players selected to the Pro Bowl will be placed into a pool and drafted by team captains and NFL Hall of Famers Cris Carter and Michael Irvin.

The Pro Bowl is sponsored by McDonalds restaurant and can be seen on January 25th of 2015 LIVE from Arizona.  While many people don’t see the Pro Bowl as a worthwhile game, it’s still an exhibition of many of the best players in the NFL playing a game that is meant to entertain millions of people.

Hopefully, NFL fans will recognize their mistake of not voting some of these great Minnesota Vikings players into the game in the future, but for now the curse of living in a smaller market area has come back to haunt Minnesota again.
