Lately, there has been a lot of buzz about a free agent wide receiver named Duron Carter.
If that name sounds familiar, it should. Duron Carter is the son of former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Cris Carter. After trying out for several teams including the Vikings after going undrafted two years ago, Duron Carter was deemed too raw of a player to make an impact and a project player.

Carter no longer carries that tag now that he’s spent two seasons with the CFL Montreal Alouettes. In 2014, Duron Carter was named to the CFL All-Star Team after catching 75 passes for 1,030 yards and scoring 7 touchdowns.
It looks as though Duron Carter is ready to make another run at the NFL now. Recently, he has interviewed and worked out with the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts. On Friday, he is set to visit with the Vikings for a workout. After that, he has known meetings scheduled with the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.
If Duron Carter impresses the Vikings, fans are hopeful that his father’s legacy with the Minnesota Vikings could be a major factor in helping to draw him to Minnesota.
That is, of course, if he’s ready to contribute at the NFL level. If his workouts go well, odds are he’ll be signed to one of the teams that he works out with. Hopefully Duron Carter can impress the teams enough to earn an NFL deal for the 2015 season.
