One day before Super Bowl 49 is played, the selection committee from the Pro Football Hall of Fame will meet to consider all of the potential candidates for enshrinement. In total, 18 finalists will be evaluated based on their merits and final decisions will be made. Of those 18, Mick Tingelhoff is the only senior nominee of the group, that also includes two contributors.
Since Tingelhoff is a senior nominee and a finalist, he will require a 80% approval rate among the committee to be enshrined and will not be competing with the other nominees for the honor.
A Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement class can be no less than 4 members and no more than 8 inductees. Hopefully, former Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff will be one of those inducted.
We at The Viking Age would like to wish the best of luck to Mick Tingelhoff and the Minnesota Vikings on getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and congratulate them both on the nomination. We’ll be sure to pass the information along to everyone when a decision is made on his status.
