‘Of Course’ Adrian Peterson Wants To Remain With Vikings

The hearing for the NFLPA’s lawsuit against the NFL on behalf of Adrian Peterson was held on Friday.  Peterson was in attendance for the hearing, which he seemed pretty happy about, but he also told reporters about his current desires when it comes to getting back on the football team as well as his team of choice.

According to FoxSports.com, Adrian Peterson sounds like he wants to stay with the Minnesota Vikings.  Here’s what they wrote in a recent article following the NFLPA’s hearing on his behalf:

"“Asked if he wants to stay with the Vikings, Peterson replied, ‘Of course.'”"

That could be a good very good thing.  Without Adrian Peterson last season, the Vikings struggled in the run game, failing to reach double digit touchdowns from their running backs.  Peterson will turn 30 years old in March, and when you combine that with his high salary and possible negative image, some fans seem to feel it could be best to move on from the former NFL Most Valuable Player.

From another recent interview that was quoted in the same FoxSports.com article, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman spoke about the Vikings situation as far as Adrian Peterson’s status back in January.

"“I don’t know if there’s a team in the NFL that wouldn’t want Adrian Peterson on the football team. Knowing Adrian since — I’ve been here his whole career — what type of person Adrian is. But I also know that we have to follow by everything that’s put in place for us. Is there a resolution? Not right now. All’s I know is where we stand today. Does that change? I’m sure it’s going to change. But until those things change, until things get resolved right now, we have Adrian Peterson, who is under contract next year, who is currently suspended by the NFL and that’s pretty much all I can go into right now.”"

So it sounds like there is some mutual love for each other between the Minnesota Vikings and their superstar running back.  We should know more about Adrian Peterson’s status for the 2015 season in April, but until then fans can just wait and see what happens.
