The Vikings are reported to be interested in former Rams and Lions QB Shaun Hill as a low-cost backup for starter Teddy Bridgewater, but Hill isn’t the only QB on Rick Spielman’s radar.

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports on the other quarterback who has been contacted by the Vikings as they seek someone to replace Matt Cassel in the #2 spot behind their star signal-caller.
Hoyer’s name was always going to come up in connection to the Vikings thanks to the Norv Turner thing, but many have expressed doubt that Hoyer would want to enter a situation like Minnesota where he would have no chance to compete for the starting job.
If Hoyer does take a serious look at the Vikings, it would likely only be after all better opportunities had fallen through. Hoyer could be in the mix as a potential starter in a place like Houston or Tennessee or St. Louis. Even San Francisco would give him a better shot to compete for the #1 job than Minnesota, where Teddy Bridgewater is firmly entrenched.
Hoyer’s knowledge of Norv Turner’s system would make him a seemingly ideal #2, but I can’t see Minnesota being at the top of Hoyer’s list.
