With the entire Minnesota Vikings draft class now under contract and the undrafted free agents signed, the focus of the team’s fan base once again shifts to Adrian Peterson. It’s about time that we’re no longer talking about Peterson being traded or much of the criticism that he faced at the hands of fans and the media. Now, it’s time to talk about football.

The 2015 NFL season is approaching slowly and the Minnesota Vikings Organized Team Activities are scheduled for May 26th. Though Adrian Peterson isn’t typically an active participant in much of the preseason activities, it would be a great act of faith from him to the team to show up at the scheduled events.
In a recent article on the Star Tribune website, Adrian Peterson was discussed through his agent Ben Dogra at Relativity Sports. Dogra has endured a lot of criticism about his handling of Peterson and has seen himself lose some big name clients recently, include Houston Texans star J.J. Watt. Dogra explained his role in representing Peterson as both a person and a football player. Here is what he said:
"“Adrian didn’t hire me to fight for me. He hired me to fight for him. And it’s not my job to be everybody’s best friend. It’s my job to do what’s right by him, and it’s as simple as that.”"
Although I don’t personally agree with a lot of what Ben Dogra has done during his time representing Adrian Peterson, he’s exactly right on this. He isn’t there to be popular. He was hired by Adrian Peterson to represent him in matters with contract negotiations and public relations. But his actions should represent those of his client.
Ben Dogra was recently asked about whether or not Adrian Peterson would be attending the team’s first OTA on May 26th. Dogra didn’t answer the question, but instead emphasized that Peterson is an adult who makes his own decisions.
"“That’s Adrian’s decision,” Dogra said. “He’s a grown man. He’s got strong principles. He’s endured a lot. It’s when he feels that true commitment. Adrian’s a very passionate person, very transparent. It’s when he feels it’s right.”"
We’ll have to wait to find out if Adrian Peterson shows up at the Minnesota Vikings Organized Team Activities, but it’s great to think that there is a possibility of it happening. After media outlets were calling for him to be released, rumors of trades and more, it appears as though Peterson will finally be a part of the Vikings again for the 2015 NFL season.
There’s never a lack of drama, excitement, or intrigue for fans in Minnesota. And now it looks like we have a reason to keep our eye on the team’s OTAs.
