Back in October of 2014, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Tom Johnson was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors. The charges that were placed against Johnson included disorderly conduct and failure to leave a Minnesota restaurant called Seven after being asked. The incident ended with Johnson being restrained through the use of chemical spray and a stun gun.

Despite the looming charges against Tom Johnson, the team brought the Tom Johnson back to the team on a three-year deal worth $7 million. Johnson earned that deal with his solid play during the 2014 season, and despite the concern about his pending legal issues at the time, the team was willing to gamble on having Johnson available for the team.
And the team’s investment in Johnson looks much better now that a recent article on ESPN’s website shared the fact that the Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman has been acquitted of all of charges.
According to the site, Johnson and his legal representatives intend to pursue legal action against the police as well as
"“Valentini says Johnson is happy with the verdict and looking forward to minicamp Monday. He says because Johnson was innocent, the NFL won’t take action against him. Valentini also says Johnson intends to sue police.”"
Tom Johnson ended the 2014 season with career highs in sacks (6.5), games played (16) and games started (2). The Vikings hope to get similar production from him during the 2015 season when he will return to his role as a situational defender and established backup for the team.
