The Minnesota Vikings (1-0) host the Tampa Bay Bucaaneers (0-0) on Saturday night August 15th at 7:00pm

The game can be heard on radio KFAN along with the TV simulcast listening to or watching Paul Allen and Pete Bercich with Ben Leber and Greg Coleman on the sidelines will be a great feature for this game.

The Vikings are coming off a 14-3 win over Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

A LOOK AT A COUPLE OF VIKINGS-STEELERS NUMBERS

Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks were 19-26 for 161 yards with a team quarterback rating of 85.6. Teddy Bridgewater 5-6 and 44 yards good for a rating of 97.2 and Mike Kafka was 7-10 and a rating of 121.3.

Shamar Stephen lead the Vikings defense with 5 tackles including a sack.

THOUGHTS ON THE BATTLE

Mike Zimmer is now 5-0 in preseason after last week’s win over the Steelers and now a home game is looking to go to 6-0.

The game I have seen labeled as Trae Waynes vs Jameis Winston as the 2 first round picks square off against each other.

Tampa Bay wide receivers will be a great challenge for the Vikings secondary as Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson both stand at 6’5”.

I will be at the game and am excited to see just how Winston does against the NFL speed. I really thought the Minnesota Vikings showed great speed last weekend in all 3 phases. The defense looked extremely fast and on special teams 2015 draft choice, Stefon Diggs showed Vikings fans just why he was picked.

Trae Waynes getting beat last week and called for holding is nice to see now so he learns before the season what he can and can’t do. We saw the speed so that is not the issue it’s just learning and you are not going to have a better teacher than Coach Zimmer.

I am extremely high on 3 more rookies besides Waynes and that is tight end, MyCole Pruitt, Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs. I know the team has 10 draft choices but after what I am seeing in camp and Sundays game I am penciling these 4 on the Minnesota Vikings’ 53 man roster.

One of my favorite players both last season and so far in 2015 camp and now last Sunday is Minnesota’s own, Adam Thielen. I heard Coach Zimmer talk about what a team guy he is doing everything asked of him. I love his hands and his attitude so hopefully Saturday night he has another big day.
