Minnesota Vikings partner with Hy-Vee supermarket chain

The Minnesota Vikings and Hy-Vee, Inc. have come to an agreement on a partnership that will make the supermarket chain one of the Founding Partners of U.S. Bank Stadium according to Vikings.com.

The partnership is a 10-year deal that will provide Hy-Vee with some premium advertisement around U.S. Bank Stadium in addition to opportunities involving concessions and specialty foods.  There is no doubt that the Minnesota Vikings have recognized the expanding Hy-Vee chain, which is opening two stores in New Hope and Oakdale in September with at least four more stores planned for the Twin Cities in the next year.

Here is the statement from Hy-Vee chairman, CEO and president Randy Edeker:

"“All of us at Hy-Vee are ecstatic to be joining the Minneapolis-St. Paul community, and what better way to show our Minnesota pride than to partner with the Vikings as they enter a new chapter with U.S. Bank Stadium. This agreement will allow us to showcase all that Hy-Vee has to offer Vikings fans and residents – both inside and outside our stores’ helpful aisles.”"

HyVee is owned by their employees and is made up of over 235 retail stores in 8 states.  Supermarket News gave the Whole Health Enterprise Award to them for their efforts in promoting a healthy lifestyle.  It is that kind of recognition that the Minnesota Vikings are counting on for that kind of hometown attitude to enhance the team’s image.

Here is the statement from Minnesota Vikings executive vice president and chief marketing officer Steve LaCroix about the partnership:

"“Hy-Vee is a very well-recognized and respected brand in the Midwest, and with their significant future growth in Minneapolis-St. Paul, this is a natural partnership for them and the team. We look forward to partnering with Hy-Vee not just on in-stadium elements but also with future community initiatives.”"

Congratulations go out to the Minnesota Vikings, U.S. Bank Stadium and Hy-Vee on this great partnership that should help all parties involved.  I look forward to seeing what the concessions and advertisements will look like when the new stadium opens for Minnesota Vikings football in 2016.
