How long will Viking fans have to wait to see Anthony Barr back on the field? Not much longer according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Back with the team after attending the funeral of his father Bill in Florida, coach Zimmer addressed the media Tuesday afternoon and had this to say about Barr (via Minneapolis Star-Tribune):
"Outside linebacker Anthony Barr participated in pre-game warmups Saturday night but was held out of game action. With Barr continuing to practice, Zimmer said we can expect to see him this weekend against the Raiders. “He’s feeling good right now,” he said. “We should get him some reps this week. You can tweet that one. We’ll get him some plays this week.”"
Barr hasn’t seen any game action since being shut down last November with a meniscus injury. The linebacker missed all of OTAs and minicamp with a separate knee issue, and was limited through much of training camp as he dealt with inflammation in the knee that was hurt last year.
It’s great news for the Vikings that Barr will finally be able to get on the field and see some live reps. Gerald Hodges has been getting first team action at Sam linebacker in Barr’s stead.
My guess is that Barr won’t play more than one series against the Raiders as he slowly works his way back to full strength. The important thing is to have him ready for the opener vs. San Francisco.
