Overall Impressions
Overall, this game was exactly what we thought we’d see from the Minnesota Vikings in the final preseason game of the year. It was sloppy and frustrating to watch at times. It was especially hard to watch the Titans first team going up against all the Vikings backups in what looked like an absolute massacre.
While this game isn’t very representative of what the team will look like going into the 2015 NFL season, the bright spots were really nice. Seeing guys like Diggs and Heinicke playing well give a lot of hope for the offense of this team in the future. Defensively, there was still a lot of work to be done with missed assignments and miscommunication.
Still, I wasn’t as discouraged as many fans on Facebook and Twitter were. I understood that this game was just to evaluate some of the fringe players and decide who is worthy of a spot on the main roster, who will make the practice squad, and who will be released. Because of that, it lacked the star power of some of the previous games.
I’m happy to say that this is the last preseason game though. Personally, I’m more than ready for the regular season to begin for the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers on September 14, 2015. The game will air on ESPN and will be the second game of the double-header. Be sure to check your listings for time and availability.
