The Minnesota Vikings are a team on the rise. Their young roster has many fans and experts excited about this team’s chances to make a splash during the 2015 NFL season.
However, folks betting on professional football games didn’t always see things that way. For the Minnesota Vikings first regular season game against the San Francisco 49ers. The game, which is scheduled to take place on September 14, 2015, opened with San Francisco as 4.5 point favorites to win the game has since seen a big turnaround.
In fact, the Minnesota Vikings have since closed that gap, and even surpassed it. Now, they are 2.5 point favorites to win the game.

Much of this is likely a combination of factors. The San Francisco 49ers have endured a horrific offseason, which saw star linebacker Patrick Willis, young linebacker Chris Borland, defensive lineman Justin Smith, and offensive tackle Anthony Davis retire from the game of football. Meanwhile, the Vikings had a solid draft, retained their major free agents and only suffered one big setback with the season ending injury to right tackle Phil Loadholt.
Of course, Las Vegas betting lines don’t mean much until the game is played on the football field. But seeing a seven point swing in the Minnesota Vikings favor sure is an interesting development to watch.
You can catch the Minnesota Vikings take on the San Francisco 49ers in the second game of Monday Night Football’s double-header on September 14, 2015.
