Seriously, Mike Zimmer does not understand why teams are required to hand out injury reports.
Zimmer was talking to reporters on Thursday when someone asked him whether Gerald Hodges would be starting at middle linebacker.
Zimmer did not want to tell reporters if Hodges would be starting.
Zimmer was asked if his refusal to name Hodges as the starter means Eric Kendricks is still in the mix.
Coach Zim did not want to answer that one either.

This prompted Zim to launch into a whole speech about why having to announce anything is bad, especially injuries (via Vikings.com):
"I understand you guys have got to ask these questions, but I’m not going to tell San Francisco who we’re playing, who is starting or anything like that. It’s just the way it is. If I could have waited another six days, I would have held off on [announcing the injury to] Sullivan, but I couldn’t. No offense.[Reporter: You don’t like those NFL injury reports then?]I don’t know what good it is."
Fantasy football nuts, gamblers and media people/bloggers looking for a quick post like injury reports.
Coaches hate injury reports.
And that’s the way it is and always will be.
The ways of coaches are not the ways of people who play fantasy football, bet on football or write about football.
And thank goodness for that.
