Overall Impressions
Overall, I was a huge fan of this game. The defense was absolutely amazing for two weeks in a row, getting to the quarterback and finishing plays. The defense created turnovers and capitalized on them. Meanwhile, the offense was efficient enough and relied on their MVP running back to carry the offense.
It was nice to be on the other side of a blowout. It feels like too long since I’ve been able to sit back on my couch and just enjoy watching football and feel like the game is safe. In the past, Minnesota Vikings fans were always on edge, being behind or knowing that no lead was ever safe.
Here is my list of players that I felt did a great job today other than noted above: Eric Kendricks, Harrison Smith, Gerald Hodges, Mike Harris, Jeff Locke and Blair Walsh. Players who disappointed me: Brandon Fusco (playing injured), Andrew Sendejo, Jerick McKinnon.
The Minnesota Vikings will be back next week to take on the Broncos in Denver. As of this writing, the Broncos are 2-0 and are facing off against the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. It will be interesting to see how Denver plays against the “Motor City Kitties”, since we’ve already seen the Vikings beat the Lions.
I hope you guys enjoyed this game as much as I did. I’m still smiling.
