The national media isn’t giving the Minnesota Vikings much of a chance against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
September 14, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (28) runs with the football against San Francisco 49ers strong safety Antoine Bethea (41) during the second quarter at Levi
I can understand why many experts are down on the Vikings. The last time Minnesota played a road game was the humiliating blowout against the San Francisco 49ers that had the team looking more like contenders for the #1 overall draft pick rather than the playoffs.
However, two big wins over the Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers have the Minnesota Vikings poised to once again be a team that could get people talking. The great folks over at 120 Sports had their 4 experts pick the winner of the game, and only one individual, Chris Martin, picked the boys in purple to walk away victorious.
Here is the video of that prediction:
As you can see, Mr. Martin has the same impression that I have. The game will come down to winning the game in the middle of the offensive line. If Adrian Peterson can keep the Broncos honest and force them to play the run, that could take a lot of pressure off young quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and a depleted Vikings wide receiver group. This should be a low scoring battle that will feature two of the most dynamic defenses in the NFL.
Even though there are still those who believe that the Minnesota Vikings can win this game, they are obviously the underdogs. The Denver Broncos are undefeated, have the #1 defense in the NFL and, on offense, they have a future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback. This will be the toughest test yet for the Minnesota Vikings, but it isn’t an impossible test.
You can see the Minnesota Vikings take on the Denver Broncos at 3:25 pm central time on Sunday, October 4, 2015. Be sure to check your local listings for availability.
