Chad Greenway supplies Hutchinson Health with a ‘locker’

Chad Greenway is one of the toughest players for the Minnesota Vikings, but he has one of the softest hearts in professional football.

Greenway’s charity donated the seventh “Chad’s Locker” to Hutchinson Health on Tuesday afternoon.  The locker is filled with games and other children’s items to help make extended stays for kids at the medical facility much more manageable.  Typically, during longer stays, many patients in hospitals can experience depression and frustration.  The donation of this locker helps to make sure that these young people will have a much more pleasant time while dealing with very hard issues.

At the unveiling of the locker on Tuesday, Chad Greenway had these words to say about the most recent “Chad’s Locker” donation:

"“This is an honor. Clearly this is something that Hutchinson was ready for. There’s definitely a need, and we’re so excited to be here,” Greenway said. “The reason we love our locker so much is because we can put it in a place like this where a lot of times the family doesn’t necessarily want to be but has to be, and it’s our biggest chance to reach out and positively affect as many people as we can—kids, families, moms and dads. The goodies that are inside of there can go a long way to help any little bit that we can. Sometimes it’s just enough to throw on some cartoons on the iPad or do something like that to pass the time. It’s an honor for us to bring it here, and we’re certainly excited about that.”"

It is always great to see a member of the Minnesota Vikings working hard with charities and the community to make the area around them a better place.  There are many great foundations throughout the organization that help make a difference in the lives of many people, and it is that kind of selflessness that shows appreciation for community and thought toward others.

Here is a tweet from the Minnesota Vikings official Twitter account about the donation:

A huge thank you goes out to Chad Greenway, the Minnesota Vikings and Hutchinson Health for all the great things they do away from the football field for youth and community.  Our hats at The Viking Age are off to you.
