It’s breast cancer awareness month around the NFL, and the Minnesota Vikings have teamed up with Caribou Coffee to a little more to help the cause.

Today, several Minnesota Vikings players including Chad GreenwayEric KendricksStefon DiggsBrian RobisonT.J. ClemmingsAndrew Sendejo, and Adam Thielen stepped behind the counter of Caribou Coffee stores in the Minneapolis area to serve up cups of coffee and more for the charity according to a recent article on the KARE11 website.

For each dollar that a customer spent while a Minnesota Vikings player was behind the counter, Caribou Coffee donated a dollar to CancerCare, which provides emotional and practical support for those living with cancer, or those who are impacted by it.  They also provide resources and information to other groups and organizations that can assist those in need of help.

In addition to the donations to CancerCare, for every cup of “Amy’s Blend” of coffee that was sold during the time the Minnesota Vikings were working, Caribou Coffee donated one cup of coffee to families and nurses in cancer centers around the United States.  Amy’s Blend is special to the coffee chain because it is named after Amy Erickson, one of the business’ first roastmasters who lost the battle with breast cancer in 1995.

It’s always great to see Minnesota Vikings players taking part in charity events like this.  Not only does it do a great thing for the community, but it also allows fans to get a chance to meet their favorite players outside of a football setting.  Huge thanks go out to Caribou Coffee and the Vikings for doing this event.

Also, be sure to check out CancerCare’s website for more information on their services and ways you can help contribute.
