Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: 5 questions with Bear Goggles On

The Minnesota Vikings travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday.  There are many Minnesota media outlets previewing the game and dissecting things from all angles.  However, at FanSided we can get a unique point of view by getting a look at the game through the eyes of the opposing teams writing staff.

For that, we called up on Mike “Boomer” Burzawa of Bear Goggles On.  We took that opportunity to as him five questions about the game to see what kind of information we could squeeze out of them about their impressions of the Minnesota Vikings, how they’d attack their own team, and who to keep a keen eye open for.  Here is what he said:

What impression do Chicago Bears fans have of the Minnesota Vikings this season considering their early success?

"“I think most Bears fans respect what the Vikings have done so far and expect a tough game on Sunday.  With the Vikings, you always expect to see a whole lot of Adrian Peterson.  The intriguing part about the Vikings is the growth of Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings passing attack.  If Stefon Diggs is legit, the play action passing game could be scary good.   Bears fans also expect a tough Vikings defense.  Mike Zimmer has the D improving steadily.”"

Is there hope among the Bears fan base that this team can turn it around in 2015 and rejoin the playoff race?

"“There was a glimmer of hope when the Bears scored back to back fourth quarter comebacks against the Raiders and Chiefs, but stumbling against the Lions and giving them their lone win of the season tempered expectations before the bye.  Most realistic fans aren’t holding out hope of a Bears playoff push in 2015, but seeing some steady improvement would give fans some hope for 2016.”"

Who is one under-the-radar player for the Bears that Vikings fans should learn before the game and why should people care?

"Oct 11, 2015; Kansas City, MO, USA; Chicago Bears wide receiver Marquess Wilson (10) is congratulated by offensive guard Vladimir Ducasse (62) during the second half against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bears won 18-17. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports“I’ll give you one on each side of the ball.  On offense, wide receiver Marquess Wilson had to step up in Alshon Jeffery’s absence and started to develop some chemistry with Jay Cutler.  Wilson could help stretch the defense a bit and pose a downfield threat.  If the Vikings want to take away Jeffery and tight end Martellus Bennett, Wilson could be an X factor. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears have a lot of under the radar players.   Rookie nose tackle Eddie Goldman has stepped up early in the season to help justify his second round draft status.  Since the Bears had to let Jeremiah Ratliff go, Goldman gets a lot more reps.”"

How should the Minnesota Vikings offense attack the Chicago Bears defense?

"“The Bears secondary has been a bit of a disaster this season.  Former first round draft pick, cornerback Kyle Fuller has faltered in Vic Fangio’s scheme and the spot opposite him has been even more shaky.  Rookie safety Adrian Amos has done a decent job, but rookie safeties can easily be exploited.  I suspect the Bears will load up to stop Peterson and try to make Bridgewater beat them through the air.”"

What is your prediction for the game, including a final score?

"“John Fox hasn’t lost a game coming off a bye since 2007.  The Vikings are 0-5 at Soldier Field in their last five trips to Chicago.  That would all point to a Bears win.  The Vikings appear to be a team on the rise, but the Bears bring them back to Earth in a nail biter. Bears 22 – Vikings 20”"
