3. Zach Line
Some were surprised when the Vikings kept Zach Line coming out of camp as a true fullback.
But in retrospect it should have been no shock that the Vikings elected to keep a genuine lead-blocking fullback on the roster.
Adrian Peterson functions best with a fullback in front of him so it was actually a no-brainer for the Vikings to keep Line.
Frankly I didn’t think Line was doing a good job earlier in the year but he’s really growing into his role.
Two weeks ago against Detroit, Line had a chance to show the damage he can do when leaking out from the backfield, taking a dump-off pass from Teddy Bridgewater and rumbling for 49 yards.
But Line’s true value is as a lead blocker and this weekend against the Bears he was a mauler.
Line also has shown his value as a short-yardage back, vulturing a couple of touchdowns away from Adrian Peterson.
Fantasy football people may hate Line but Vikings fans should be very happy with the way he’s performing.
