Preview

Quarterbacks

Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater had a poor overall statistical game last week against the Bears but did make several big plays late to lead Minnesota to a come-from-behind win.

Rams QB Nick Foles has gone over 200 yards passing only once so far in 2015 and that was in week 1.

Running backs

Adrian Peterson ran for 103 yards last week vs. the Bears but, in atypical fashion, did not break any runs for big yardage.

Rams rookie Todd Gurley has run for at least 128 yards in each of his last four games, topping out at 159 against Green Bay.

Wide receivers/tight ends

Minnesota Vikings rookie Stefon Diggs was the hero vs. the Bears with his 40-yard game-tying TD catch in the fourth quarter.

Tavon Austin is far-and-away the Rams’ best receiver with his 24 catches for 284 yards and 4 TDs.

Offensive line

Vikings linemen Matt Kalil and Mike Harris are two of several Vikings players who have not received enough praise in 2015.

More from The Viking Age

Pro Football Focus ranked the Rams’ line 27th in the league.

Defensive line

The Vikings will once again be without starting DT Sharrif Floyd. Linval Joseph continues to be the anchor of the entire Vikings’ defense and deserves more praise.

Rams star DE Robert Quinn is listed as questionable with a bad knee.

Linebackers

The Vikings will be without rookie linebacker Eric Kendricks who is nursing a rib injury. Audie Cole will start in his place.

Former safety Mark Barron has racked up 26 tackles in two games since moving to Will linebacker.

Secondary

Vikings safety Harrison Smith appeared on the injury report with a bad neck but is expected to play.

Gregg Rosenthal doesn’t think the Rams’ secondary gets enough love.

Special teams

Blair Walsh continued his resurgence last week, nailing 3-of-3 field goals against the Bears including the game-winner.

The Rams like pulling trick plays on special teams.

Prediction: Teddy Bridgewater gives the Vikings an edge in this game between otherwise equally-matched teams and Minnesota prevails 17-13.
