Minnesota Vikings put Audie Cole on IR, sign Jason Trusnik
By Dan Zinski
The Minnesota Vikings made two roster moves on Tuesday, the team officially announced.
In a move that we all saw coming, the Vikings placed LB Audie Cole on injured reserve. The Vikings already revealed that Cole would miss the rest of the season after breaking his ankle against the Rams.
To take Cole’s place on the roster, the Vikings signed veteran free agent LB Jason Trusnik.
A 2007 UDFA out of Ohio Northern, Trusnik spent his first two seasons with the New York Jets before being dealt to the Cleveland Browns as part of the Braylon Edwards trade.
Trusnik remained in Cleveland until 2011 when he moved to Miami on a free agent contract. Trusnik stayed with the Dolphins through the 2014 season.
In 2015, Trusnik signed on with the Carolina Panthers but was released in September.

In his career, the 6-4, 252-lb Trusnik has amassed 282 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 4 passes defensed. Trusnik has 25 career starts at LB and has also excelled as a special teams player.
Trusnik’s best overall season came in 2009 when he started 10 games for the Browns, ringing up 56 tackles. For the Dolphins in 2014 he started 6 games, collecting 48 tackles, 2 passes defensed and one INT.
Trusnik provides the Vikings some veteran insurance at the linebacker position while they wait on Eric Kendricks, whose status remains up-in-the-air as he deals with a rib injury.
Audie Cole started for Kendricks against the Rams but broke his ankle in the fourth quarter. Cole’s contract expires at the end of the season.
