The Minnesota Vikings will be the underdogs in Sunday’s matchup against the Oakland Raiders for the week 10 NFL matchup on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Halfway through the season for the Minnesota Vikings, they’re sitting at 6-2 and are currently on top of the NFC North.  They are on a 4-game winning streak and have come up victorious during their last two road games.  However, they are still considered underdogs when they travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders.

Well, at they are underdogs according to the betting odds found on OddsShark.

According to the website, the Raiders are set at -2.5 with the over/under being set at 44.5 points.  For those who are not familiar with those kind of numbers, here is a quick breakdown of what they mean:

More from The Viking Age

First, the -2.5 means that Oakland are favored by 2.5 points in the game.  That means that if you bet against the spread, Oakland would have to win by 3 or more points in order to win your bet.

Next, the over/under is the total number of points scored in a game.  For example, if you think the game will be higher scoring, you could bet that the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders will combine for 45 points or more.  Or, if you think it will be a defensive battle with a low score, you can bet under and hope that the game only sees 44 points or less scored.

Typically, home field advantage accounts for nearly 3 points when it comes to betting, so much of Oakland’s advantage in Vegas rests on the game being played in California.  If the game were played at a neutral location, It could be estimated that the Minnesota Vikings would be 0.5 point favorites.
